Puzzles on Construction Project Time Management

We have known a lot of professional Planners and Schedulers over the years.  One thing that all seem to have in very common: they’re too serious!

We think it would do them a bit of good to let their hair down once in a while, and have some fun. So like the dog who chews on a bone to keep his teeth sharp, we thought it might be fun to have puzzles for Schedulers  to work on to stay at the top of their game.

Introducing ICS-Global’s LogICS Puzzle — aka Schedoku Puzzle

If you are familiar with Sudoku™ and you think you understand how CPM works, then Schedoku™ Puzzles may keep you busy for many, many hours of fun!  Sudoku is a Japanese logic-based, combinatorial, number-placement game where the objective is to fill a 9×9 with numbers such that each row and column with a single grid “cell” contains all of the numbers from 1 to 9.  And each game contains nine “cells,” and so the rows and columns across cells must also contain the numbes 1 to 9.

Anyway, back to Schedoku™, the idea here is to figure out the missing “dates,” based on your knowledge of the Critical Path Method, and the partial information provided by the puzzle designer.  See the image below, to get an idea how it works:

Testing the Waters

It takes time to create a Schedoku™ Puzzle. Before we invest a lot of time and money in making a full set of puzzles of different levels of difficulty, we thought we would test the waters, so to speak, and see just how much interest there might be for a running series of Schedoku™ Puzzles. So, let us hear from you. If you like the idea of Schedoku™ Puzzles, then be sure to click the LIKE buttons below.

Have fun!!!
